Does anyone know why in the last 2 weeks or so, there's only been 1tph GA stopping off-peak at Romford in each direction? Normally, there's 2tph.

For example, according to the GA timetable (https://www.greateranglia.co.uk/media/14276/download?inline), there is a 1533 departure from Romford to Liverpool Street on weekdays and Saturdays.

However, searching RTT for 5th Sep (Fri) and 6th Sep (Sat), there is no 1533 depature.

That's actually answered a question I've been wondering for a few weeks why it's been a very steady cruise up to Shenfield recently.

Yes that section does suffer and the extended ESR happens every 2-3 years depending on the weather. It’s a long tedious 20mph too!!

Sadly both of the Southend routes seem to be suffering with the speed restrictions at present. c2c feels very sluggish but I didn't realise it was 20 on the other side!

This is connected to the Soil Moisture Deficit (SMD) issues, affecting the sections between Harold Wood and Brentwood, as well as on the Southend Victoria branch: https://www.greateranglia.co.uk/travel-information/service-alterations/speed-restrictions

As a result, GA have removed the Romford stop from 1 x Southend service per hour, to reduce the overall reactionary delay impact from the reduced speeds currently imposed.
Thanks for the info. It isn't prominently advertised though. I think a poster at the affected stations would be good.

GA website says there's emergency engineering on Sunday 28th Sept to replace faulty rail at Gidea Park crossover

A strange asymmetrical service is running today (Sunday).
2 tph at Romford down
0 tph at Romford up

The timetable seems completely random now.

Tomorrow (Sunday 9/11), it seems it's a repeat of the above quote, with 2 tph down, 0 tph up.

Checking RTT on Monday (10/11), it looks like down is pretty consistent at 2 tph.
Up varies from 1 tph to 2 tph, e.g. the 1233, 1333, 1533 have been removed. But the 1134 and 1434 still exist.

It is so random now. You really have to check just before you travel currently. I hope they return to some uniformity soon.
