Just saw a Greater Anglian 156 plodding Northwards through Northampton Station this lunchtime (2.6.14). Anyone got any ideas as to where it was heading?

heading back to crown point the 156 refurbishment program is complete but some have gone back to wolverton for some minor modications

It will be on passage from Wolverton to Anglian land after some refurb works.
The Anglia MKIII seems to come the other way and run for the south to Wolverton while most often the units run in form the north!

That'll be route clearance for the 156s.

The modifications involve new seat backs without the mounting points for fold-down tables. NXEA removed the fold down tables because they never got cleaned and people kept breaking them, but the mounting points for the tables were left behind and looked very untidy. The original refurbs didn't replace the seat backs but the later ones did, so now the older ones are going back to get the new seat backs.
