Terrorism will be around as long as there is economic inequality or religious values cannot be questioned....
I think that is a rather romantic view of terrorism. I suspect it will be around so long as there are impressionable people willing to listen to charismatic leaders who get their kicks out of violence. In that respect, yes i do equate Al Q'Aida, the IRA, Bader-Meinhof with the likes of the Krays (who were doing their bit to redistribute wealth). One of the problems with counter-terrorism is that it gives political credence to the terrorists.
...Say what you like about Labour but at least they pretended to be for the people instead of the elite....
They didn't even do pretending very well, did they?

That camp is incompatible with civil liberties, sad as it sounds it's a chance we had to take

I always find it strange to see an American military establishment functioning on the territory of a communist state such as Cuba. Perhaps the lack of "civil liberties" that are the norm for those not adhering to the Casto ideal would appear to show that the Americans are joining in with their camp as a mark of "solidarity" to the current Cuban ideal.

The line between 'freedom fighter' and terrorist can be very blurred. It may be romantic, it may be wrong, but some do people believe that we call terrorists are actually fighting an oppressor. Not everyone is brainwashed, some actually come to this conclusion based on the evidence before them in the location that they live in.

Very well said. The simplistic expression is inherently true. It just depends in which camp you've pitched your tent.
