Hi,

Does anyone know if the Fylde Coast Day Ranger ticket exists?

I’ve tried contacting both National Rail and Northern but both had no idea if it even existed.

The following link has a bit of information about the ticket but missing all the important information:

The whole train ticket booking system needs looking at and changing. Such an archaic method.

It's not listed in the promotions-publics.xml, nor the CURRENT.TRR data files.

It's not available on railrover.org so it almost definitely is no longer available. Quite a shame, as there is no other tram+rail ticket purchasable for any of Lancashire now.
When was the 'Fylde Coast Day Ranger' ever available? Can't see anything in the 2008 Fares Manuals. Thinking it must have been a fairly short-lived product.

BTW, it is currently possible to buy through day singles / day returns from certain stations in the North West, such as Chorley and Preston for example, to either Blackpool North or Blackpool South, with a Bus/Tram add on.

Are these valid as far as Starr Gate and Fleetwood, or just to tram stops in the town centre?

This was the announcement back in 2022. Not sure you could do both Starr Gate (at one end of the Blackpool tram system) AND Fleetwood (at the other) but you could certainly do one of them.

Northern said:
People heading to Blackpool on trains operated by Northern will now be able to buy one ‘through ticket’ that will also cover their bus and tram journeys in the town.
Working in partnership with Blackpool Transport – the seaside resort’s bus and tram operator – Northern’s customers will be able to travel onwards from Blackpool North or Blackpool South to destinations including Fleetwood, Bispham and Thornton Cleveleys.

The through singles allow one journey on bus or tram, the day returns allow a days unlimited travel.

PlusBus covers Starr Gate to Cleveleys, so logic might suggest a through ticket to Fleetwood and a PlusBus would be a good combination.

The PlusBus would be unnecessary. A day return ticket from Station X to Blackpool North Bus + Tram (H058/QBN) or South (H059/QBS) would include unlimited bus and tram including Fleetwood.
