Which trains are you most and least looking forward too to travel on in the coming years?

I'll buck the trend and say the 345s, the 707s, 710s, 717s and when it comes, the NTfL which as a small cross-section through-gangwayed tube set will be interesting.
The 700s are interesting and 707s/717s should be interesting to compare especially on different routes. The 710s will probably be less of a change from the 345s as they are being developed in a similar timeframe.
That's not to say that the FLIRTs and various conventional EMU/DMU designs on order won't be of some interest but their roles (and designs) will be more conventional than the London stock, the interest is just how some new (for the UK) suppliers style their designs.
It looks like all the new designs will have seats designed for better posture so that's a benefit.

The 380s almost have an InterCity feel to them - I was surprised. And the windows are *massive*.

Agreed, they were certainly one of the most pleasant surprises of the 2010s. Considering they're a Siemens product, and that they have the 350s as part of their family, I don't think many people were expecting such a superior product. If ScotRail ever want rid of them, we'd very happily have them down south. Please can we have them on Birmingham to Liverpool, Birmingham to London, Crewe to London or, indeed, and I know I'm going to be unpopular here, on Northern's electrified lines? Pretty please?

AM9 has reminded me of the new order for TfL, that will be welcome by all. Air conditioned trains on the deep level Tube would be awesome, maybe we'll finally have an end to the Bakerloo's nickname 'The Oven Line' when it arrives. We still have a long wait for that if I recall correctly, but if spec'd properly then it'll be welcome!

Weren't the 380s just the remnants of the GARL Project, not the fact that Scotrail actually planned for an overhaul of units? The units look far too superior (on the inside at least) to have actually have been planned to replace the suburban EMUs on Inverclyde (and North Berwick). The formations (3/4 cars) give evidence of that in my opinion. Apologies if I'm wrong on this.

I doubt there will be aircon. Aircon doesn't cool, it just moves heat out of the vehicle. It would superheat the tunnels which are already too hot.

I'm fairly sure that only a few of the Class 380 units were planned for use on GARL.

What on earth is a Flirt?!
Fast Light Innovative Regional Train or in German Flinker Leichter Innovativer Regionaler Triebzug!
Stadler also make a KISS (Komfortabler Innovativer Spurtstarker S-Bahn-Zug).

Ah fair enough. Even so, I'm looking forward to the new order!
Yeah, me too. Hope either Hitachi-Bombardier or Siemens win!
