The railway, like any business, is constantly moving forwards. It isn't just going to stay static forever, that would be bananas. The world changes, passenger behaviour and expectations etc change - and the railway needs to proactively adapt going forwards.
A lot of these ticket office changes and modernisation plans should have happened years ago, and it should have been done in a more gentle, gradual manner, rather than saving them all up in one big hit - but we can learn from that going forwards into the future.
That time frame may be months, it may be years, in some cases it may be a decade or more - but there will undoubtedly be more change eventually - it is inevitable.
