So considering that WCML is looking to move to bi-modes for the routes requiring diesel and some DMUs will (potentially) be freed up from EMR, any idea how this might impact the XC fleet?
Currently it is one of the most chronically under-capacity TOCs, so getting some cascades moving seems like the quickest way to resolve this.
Plus, there are a lot of HSTs still bouncing around. Always glad to see a HST pull in, they are nicer, quieter and higher capacity than a Voyager, but obviously quite old and lack some of the crash worthiness of more modern trains.
Any thoughts? Not sure if there is any word from government on the plans for this!
