Has anyone else started college/6th Form yet?

I started 6th Form yesterday and its the best decision I ever made, already loving it . We all have to wear suits, shirts and ties, already had the comments on buses from old ladies hock:. They put me in for an extra AS for General Studies which I don't seem to remember signing up for hock:. So I'm currently doing 5 A Levels, have a brilliant job, this photting/travelling hobby and a load of other stuff - I'm a very busy person now, but very happy indeed 8)

Odd, here in Hertfordshire you can wear your own clothes in Sixth Form and College, dunno which to take really. Spose I would go onto College to do some kind of engineering course.

Yep. I started college on Monday. I get half days on Wednesdays and don't have to go in on Fridays Hurrah!
Not really done much yet, but it seems okay so far

I'm doing 6th year Advanced Highers in Biology, Chemistry and Maths. Fun. I am actually enjoying the courses because I'm a sad scientist geek, but they are tiring. And at least I've dropped English .

Gizmogle, you've got a good deal with that college! I'm 9-4, occassionally 5 when I get an experiment, Monday to Friday non stop. And Saturdays for music "school".

It's 0930-1630 Mon, Tues and Thurs.
0930-1230 (but they have the right to say they want you in till 0430) Weds
Free day Friday

It is pretty awesome.

I think Ramel is going to a posh place () cause no where I know makes students wear uniform.

We just have to wear Clothes at College.

I finished college in June and only had to be in when I had a lesson or when I had a twice weekly tutor session.

Could wear my own clothes and call the staff by their first names.

At the school I left you had to wear smart clothes including shirt & tie.

I quite enjoyed it but I'm glad it's all over now & so looking forward to uni

Oaklands college (My local...) depending what course you take you do 9-5 Mon - Tues then 9 - 12 on Wednesday then that's it!

Back when I was in sixth form (started there 20 years ago this month, been left 18 years!) I think the wording was we had to dress smart, as you would do in an office. We could get away without a tie, but I remember one of my mates turning up in jeans and being told not to again! I think generally colleges are more relaxed with what you wear than sixth forms connected to schools. Strangely, I now work in an office, and wear jeans and t-shirt there most of the time...
