I was on the same train mate. Id been at KGX since 11am. All passengers were being advised to go to Euston or St Pancras for Northbound trains. That 1330 was a shocker with the amount of people standing. I gave up my seat to a couple of old dears who were going to Glasgow eventually and i stood at the door by the buffet car with the window down for cool air and never got a seat until after NCL. it was like a pack of animals literally fighting for seats and ignoring the people who really needed them. We waited on a route conductor at PBO which was around 40min and i got the shock of my life when we branched off to the right shortly after leaving PBO. Never done that route before and was amazed it took so long to cover, maybe something to do with the line speed only being about 50mph all the way on mostly jointed track too.
It must have taken over 2 hours to get to Donny. We passed atleast 3 other EC hsts heading south on that line along with several freight which included 2 60s (one on tanks and one light) and 3 66s tied up with FL flats (poss gbrf) and 4 or 5 ews 66s tied up running light. There was a 37 and a 33 TAT on a charter at YRK too. The train stopped at York,Darlington,Durham,Newcastle and Berwick. After Newcastle the train emptied a wee bit but up until then it was full. Arrived in Edin at 2015 and was advertised on the screens as the 2035 to INV. No idea if it ran though i was away home by then although it was announced on the train that the ETA for arr in INV was Midnight.
