FSR to lose First livery

I disagree; the point of having a single livery is that the train doesn't have to be repainted every time a new franchise holder comes in. And we've seen enough "First" livery around the network anyway

It's a shame something can't be brought in like this on a national level, to make the network appear more unified and integrated. Take a look at how National Express coaches seem to appear as if they are one company, rather than a load of contractors (or 'franchisees') if you prefer.

I couldn't agree more. I have read that the new livery will only be applied at the usual repaints, so no extra cost. Also it seems to look good. I think it is a great idea because constant re brandings are confusing to the passenger. Take GNER all that effort to re brand and get the new name out there in the public awareness and then it all needs to be done again with NX. I feel that it is much less wasteful and better marketing to have brands that come with the franchise. Another example would be Transport for London, those familiar red buses are run by many companies. Perhaps franchise operators feel they want to make their mark with quality of service etc, but all franchises should be run at the same high quality of service. The thing is with the current privatised railway, it is a franchise operation and operators will change so a constant image is important. Its not like back in the days of the big 4 when the companies were private but were unlikely to change, they even owned the rails they ran on.

Yet the Scot Rail livery has just been phased out with this livery itself causing a mass re-livery.

But tbh, in my experience. The livery doesn't matter as long as its the advertised train going where you want it to. Living on the Thameslink line gives me pretty good experience as well.

No, this livery will be applied as the units go in for painting and maintenance. The old decals will be removed, and the new ones applied. The base coat colour is tHE same. The FSR livery could easily still be on the network in 4 years time. The old NX SR one was!

I for one................like the new livery and brand! I take it the services will be refferred in announcements as "Scotrail". If so, long may it continue, as all this chopping and changing beyond recognition of TOC names, will inevitably confuse everybody!

Only downside to this, goodbye to SPT's carmine and cream :cry:

No, the service will still be First Scotrail Express / Shuttle etc. It is still a franchise, not yet a concession. Out of interest, how is LOROL announced?

'The service for XXX'; 'the LOROL service for XXX', 'the London Overground service for XXX'; 'the Overground service for XX' or what?

Except the costs of reliverying every 5-7 years, the cost of rebranding stations and such like. The lack of identity for passengers to buy into (marketing / branding psychology).

Yup, there's evne a 1024px theme on here with a Metronet 66, I'll have you know.

The 66 is different. That was a GBRf loco which was branded for one of their clients (cf DRS/Tesco etc). I mean did the tube stock have a door sticker saying 'maintained by Tube Lines' or a full paint job or just TfL or nothing??
