FSR Sleeper question

Does anyone know what the numbers of the bay of 4 on Scotrail seated sleepers are?

I think there's one bay of 4, but there may be 2. The vast majority of seats are airline style which we don't want.

Most passengers wouldn't want these seats but we're just doing the Edinburgh-Fort William section in a group so it would be better for us!

Are you sure? There is virtually ZERO gap between the seat bases on the facing bay. You get one pair of legs down there maybe, but not two.

I would agree, avoid the bay of four seats on the seated sleeper, but probably acceptable for the Edinburgh - Fort William

The seats at the other end also align up nicely
01 03, and 02 05 plus 04 which is on the aisle

If you are travelling soutbound on the 11:40 Fort William - Glasgow note that the WHL 156 has a slightly different layout plan
Coach A 33 / 34 or 35 / 36
These are the only bays with unrestricted floor space (the others have heaters under the tables)

Legrooms poor at the seats around 4, they are located at each door in the carriage there is 4 altogether in the carriage, the Fort William Sleeper can be very messy at times with people sleeping on the floor, luggage scattered everywhere aisles blocked, doors blocked etc. what do you expect tho sending 32 seats on a 12 hour journey crazy haha

That's complete rubbish. The BUO is 2+1 seating, so there can't be 2 bays of 4 at each end.

IIRC, there is only one bay of 4, there is one of 3 at the other end of the coach, and one of 2 at each end.

You do talk cobblers. People sleeping on the floor with doors blocked? The OP said he wanted to use them as a day service from Fort William to Edinburgh, not to sleep to London on. A bay of 4 is ideal for a social where the Airline seats are ideal for sleepers.

I'm not sure about the Northbound from Edinburgh, but the Southbound has always been very civilised when I've got it. Only a few people have attempted to sleep on it (no more than any 'day train' at that time of night) as everyone knows you have to get up at about 0040 to change trains! Everyone was chatting right up to Edinburgh, and sitting normally.

Then you get on the ex-Aberdeen portion and it's like entering a completely different world!

FSR proactively deter people from sleeping on the floor in the BUO, there just isn't the room
It's been years since there were bays of 4 seats, the old converted SO coaches, but they're long gone!

The Inverness BUO tends to be lightly loaded every time I've seen it (as it needs to keep reservations for seated Fort William passengers for some reason)
The Fort William BUO starts off almost empty from Edinburgh, but after Crianlarich it clearly isn't suitable or big enough!

Cobblers, you must be that old... never heard anyone use that word before: for starters, have you even used the sleeper? and B. How would you actually know if they were or werent? and in this case one or two people were owing to some seats being double booked!! Then again who wants to listen to someone who made FOTM

No, there aren't.
In the BUO of the Caledonian Sleeper, on one side there is a bay of 4 at one end, and a bay of 3 at the other, on the other side there are two bays of 2, one at either end.

I'm curious how you think there can be four bays of four in a coach with 2+1 seating.

im aware of that i mean there is seats around a group of 4 as well at the end of the coach. Am probs explaining it wrong nvm
