I guess I understand what you mean. Around here someone refusing trainees is always seen as a @!&//?#, basically, by trainees and by his collegues... even though, while this case is not specifically mentioned in rules and regulations, it is made clear that a Driver has the right to avoid everything that might distract him.
But safety here is not as well regarded in all its details as - I seem to understand through this forum - it is in the UK.

I was one of the awkward. :lol: Luckily I found mostly Drivers that were as silent as me or, on the opposite, those that would speak in my place too, if I didn't. <D

Wish I could refuse someone entry into my signalbox. Actually a visitor can break up a dull shift, especially on a Sunday.
