From whom should I claim?

I'm sure this has been answered before but I can't find it. Therefore could you offer any advice please?

I recently took a trip from a Thameslink station involving multiple operators. The Thameslink leg was fine. From Paddington the GWR service left late and lost time; this was a delay of one hour and ten minutes. The WMT connection was cancelled resulting in further delay of an hour.

I arrived at my destination two hours late. From whom do I claim, please?

Am I doing separate claims for separate delays or lumping into one claim for the whole delay?

One claim to GWR for the lot - they were the first operator to cause you a meaningful delay

You make one Delay Repay claim, from the train company that first caused your journey to become disrupted.

Ordinarily I'd say this was GWR as they caused you to miss your connectio. But if the WMT service you were connecting onto (something like Worcester to Hereford I'm guessing?) was cancelled before you set off, you would be best off claiming from them instead - as you were never going to have a train to connect onto.

Because there were two lots of disruption, you can probably 'look forward' to your claim being batted back and forth between WMT and GWR...

Right thank you. The late GWR meant I missed a WMT connection which ran. The subsequent one was cancelled hence even more delay.

I'll try GWR first. Thanks ever so much for your advice

Ah ok, yes in that case it would be a claim from GWR.
