But in a later post the original poster confirms they were heading on the train that went via St Albans and so it wasn't the one to Sutton with no First Class that Yorkie2 thought it was? Unless I have misread?

It does not appear to me that yorkie2 has been ignored. The OP has reponded and confirmed that the 1757 was via St Albans, not round the Sutton loop, so yorkie2's remarks about First Class accommodation no longer apply.

There are two 1757 services from Farringdon (Mon-Fri). There's a Southbound service on the Sutton loop (which as per the timetable does not have First Class) and there is a Northbound service to Bedford (which does). In view of the cost of the season ticket that is mentioned (£3300) it's possible that the query relates to a Northbound FCC service.

Two stops from Farringdon on the Northbound 1757, is St. Albans (!)
