Frodsham to chester

Hi,

I traveled from frodsham to hooton yesterday for a bit of walking and was suprised that the ticket was cheaper than frodsham to chester, even though I change at chester. I was wondering if it is valid to buy a ticket to hooton but leave the station at chester?

I believe that (Stopping short) is allowed on most types of ticket, but you'd better have a dig around inside the NFM for any nasty restrictions or conditions that may exist for the TOC in question, especially the dreaded Break of journey is not permitted except to change trains at an intermediate station.

I'll see if I can get a sec to look up those flows for ye, and post again if I turf owt up.

Alight short at Chester you mean.

Note if you do break your journey or travel short and want to leave at Chester the ticket barriers may refuse your ticket, but if you go to the end barrier and show it to the rail staff on the end barrier they'll put a green Arriva ticket in the barrier and wave you through.
