I had a search, came up blank, is there a french equivalent to Quail Maps? In particular for the LGV Nord?

All I can think of that sort of fits your requirement are the atlases produced by Schweers + Wall. There does not appear to be an atlas for France, but there is a Europe wide version:
http://www.railatlas.eu/index.html
They (S&W) have done one for Northern France (http://www.schweers-wall.de/atlas_frankreich.html) - presumably Tome 2 for the south will follow at some stage...

Or look at the RFF web site - maps at https://www.sncf-reseau.com/fr/documentation/cartes ; or look for "Nouvelle Géographie Ferroviaire de la France" (3 vols) by Gérard Blier, published by La Vie du Rail (and see what else they've published)

Thanks/merci for this link, very new and very detailed-looks even slightly better as the S&W (except of course that S&W also does the local rails by metro and tram)
