There is a book available, but things can (and often do) change as soon as it gets printed.

However, the on-line version is as up-to-date as anything you will get, short of carrying a TOPS / TRUST terminal round with you

If you are serious about spotting / photting freight trains, it is worth every penny, not to mention the time saved on possible wasted trips out.

Freightmaster online is excellent and well worth the money. The web forum is a mine of information which you won't get anywhere else. The expertise on freight matters offered by some of the members is brilliant.
