If you haven’t already Scratch about 2 hours from your day and read this post from the start. There’s loads of detail from posters who have just sat them.

As others have said on here already, just make sure you are comfortable and will not be disturbed or have the thought you might be disturbed. Ensure you are rested (i.e. not just come off nights or something like that). Have a drink close to hand and laptop plugged in or on charge. Just don't over think things but make sure you read the instructions carefully. Good luck!

Ideally don't use a laptop, use a proper desktop. If you don't have one then at least get a proper mouse, a touchpad won't help you at all.

Good point, I forgot about the mouse! I did all my tests on a laptop to be fair, worked a treat.

Just did my two online tests. I'd practiced only a couple of times. Quite enjoyed them and found both easier than the practice ones I'd say. They go on for longer than I'd expected. Make sure u have a drink to hand, and pen and paper in case you want to make notes for the A. B. C. D. Options etc

1) I've seen mention of high demand / low demand with regard to part 2 of VSE, could someone expand on what exactly this is in the context of the test?

2) The trainee driver application had a 7 point list of the application process, does anyone have a copy of this? Now the advert is removed I can't find it again.

I don't have the list but essentially from where you are now, it's the two online tests, stage one (pen and paper tests), stage two vienna tests and MMi, then your DMI and finally medical/DBS

With the tests, it will all be explained in the instructions and practice before you take the actual test, I know this doesn't help you now but honestly it's so self explanatory it will make sense when you sit down and do it, it's not worth confusing you now. You

Ah right OK, I didn't realise everyone got the same questions. I thought they based your questions on your answers to an SJE test you have beforehand?

I think there’s a variety of questions, however I think you’ll find that Freightliner use their set questions, whereas other TOCs do the same, but they can vary from company to company. They base their ‘probing’ around your SJE answers I believe.

Congrats on passing the 1st Stage!

Looks like the 7 point application process has been explained but I wouldn't worry about the longevity of it but just take each stage as it comes. In regards to the high/low demand - it will be explained during the practice time but essentially it is when more things happen at one time and requires more concentration.

Had a call from them today in regards to considering Thamesport instead of Tilbury. Seems like the courses for Tilbury are not going to be for a long time whereas Thamesport starts in Feb.

Will be travelling a bit further but thought hey ho let’s just go for it so I can get started ASAP.

I think to be honest it’s potentially tricky even with a mouse as you’re back and fourth an awful lot in the last part!

I’m mainly on the road deliverying so I was going to use following the rules on the road as an example. I’m just hoping that’s a strong enough response.

You don't need to think about it being the best example, you just need to show that you have and can follow them, you must have rules and procedures to do with health and safety? Or what happens when a delivery goes wrong for whatever reason?
