Freightliner - Trainee Drivers (05/12/22)

Just done the VSE. First part was esily done. 2nd the bloody mouse caused a bit of issues so messed up a bit. Must have made 6 to 8 mistakes. Third part around 4 mistakes but got all the track missing/colour changing I believe. Did not notice any spots (track changes) like some have mentioned.

Any idea how long OPC take to respond.

I have been invited to do the VSE exercise. I was just wondering if when this happens is it just the dot that might skip or might there be changes to the track etc.
I have been told by some that the dots can change colour but one friend said the track also has to be observed.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi mate. The first part defo only has change of colour or missing one dot.
The third part which is a combination of 1 and 2, the dot went backwards for me. However I didn't notice any tra k changes. That could be because I missed it though.....

I done the first 4 tests last week , just got a email saying I have met all the required standards for freightliner and that they will be in touch to organise a DMI. Anyone else heard anything?

That's strange. Unless you already have done the test before etc. But hey well done. Please for you and good luck with DMI.

Me too. Just in the last few minutes. Stating that OPC is closed from 23/12/22 to 03/01/23 and will be told of the VSE and M7SJT results after the holidays......

I completed and passed the first 4, the vse and M7SJT a couple of months ago with another toc. Haven’t received any links to complete these with Freightliner, so maybe I won’t need to do them?

I’ve done the tests previously, passed, and still had to sit them. Seems weird.

Yes I’ve done them about 3-4 years ago with London overground so they must be good enough for freightliner still

Yeah, passed all for DRS but was put into a talent pool a few months ago for them.

During part 3 of the VSE I knew I made too many mistakes so decided to call it a day.

Third time I've sat this test, with 2 previous passes for Avanti and DRS. I'm certain that I was clean through test one. 2 mistakes in test two and maybe 4 errors in test three. Hopefully being 'late' is only punished once and is not regarded as an error for two consecutive signals, otherwise I could have 6 errors in test 3.

M7SJT I'm less confident about. While I went through each scenario with a safety - then customer service - then chaff mentality I couldn't help but think that some of the office and trade scenarios offered answers that, while differently worded, led to identical outcomes.

We'll see...

Sat tests today. Feel reasonably confident with M7SJT.

VSE I'm not sure, I reckon in third part I got around 5 mistakes, second part maybe 2 or 3. Surely the fail mark is beneath me. No consecutive errors either, just plodded on and didn't crumble. Who knows, l will just need to wait and see I guess. Fingers crossed. Good luck to everyone and merry Xmas

Two of my friends are still waiting to hear back. They received emails saying sorry we are going through a lot of applicants etc and then it mentioned OPC closing for a few says over Xmas and New years so please be patient etc

Any tips for the visuals search exercise any good techniques especially for the second part when you have to do both and the situational judgement one before I do that.

Stage 3 you get 4 seconds to complete "2 boxes" which is stage 1 and 2 combined. Box 1 which is the same as stage 1 is to take importance over the second box. it definitely takes 100% concentration and the chances of being fully accurate is near impossible I reckon

I’ve applied for Millerhill depot and completed the VSE and M7SJT for the 20th Dec deadline. Getting ready to check my emails every 5 minutes from tomorrow when they open up again! Did you apply for Mossend or Millerhill?

The assessments I did online had to be done by 16/12, and I’ve yet to hear anything else?
