How does the 60 min travel distance work? I applied for crew and when you check the location it varies on travel time dependant upon what time of day you check ranging from 54-67 mins. Anyone got any knowledge?

From what I have heard this is the very first step in the process. At least we have made it past the very first hurdle! Good luck.

Lol are they doing social security’s checks on peoples NI number or something?? I think the first test will be to check your location and see if you live within 60 mins of depo??

Hi everyone, good luck to all those applying!

Does anyone know. How long is the training until competent and on full money?

Thanks
Depends if you’re HH or IM. Both go onto the second pay stage after the classroom training, 12 weeks.

IM - full pay after 50 weeks, no matter what stage of training you’re at.

HH - full pay when you drive your first train on your own, so being productive for the company.

For obvious reasons, HH drivers seem to want to get through their hours, route learning quicker.

Out of interest dose anyone know if Eastleigh is IM or HH?

I know there’s unlikely to be a definitive answer but how soon before the course starts do you hear you’ve got a place on average?

They do it based on non peak and peak travel times.

Usually, you’ll be told you’ve got a place on a course and when a couple of months before, relying on the fact that you have a successful DBS check and medical.

You won’t actually receive a contract of employment until you’ve passed those though.

Applied Monday evening and received an email with a link to another, very short, personal details page on Survey Monkey (I think they were called).
Applied to B'ham.

Hello, has anyone who applied yesterday had a reply from the OPC yet?
Same as the others. I received an email linking to a short form asking personal details. Literally a handful of questions - Took about 3 minutes to complete.

Has anyone applying already completed / passed the OPC screening previously? I have been through the tests and assessments but wasn't sure if they would be similar or different for FL. Any advice?

Good luck everyone!
