States on the email should be done on a laptop. However not sure if this is because they believe it will be easier reading etc or because it is not compatible

To quote the email I received :

It is very important that you complete these tests on a PC or Laptop with a mouse. You must not try to complete the tests on a phone or tablet, doing so may negatively impact your performance
Many thanks.

I've not heard anything, I got the email for the survey asking for extra details, then another email saying thanks for filling in the details they will get back ASAP etc, then that was it. Can only assume I'm out of their catchment, as others are getting second tests.
I’ve seen others comment who hadn’t made it they were told-one guy was told it was due to being too far and the other was told he was unsuitable. It sounds like they contact you either way

Hello, first time posting so be gentle. I have applied to the above and had the assessments sent to me to complete. I am wondering if there is a way that I can study prior to sitting these exams, I see a few books on the market with ropey reviews. I am unsure even what the test could be with the name of the tests 'Priorities - Driving Tasks', sounds like it could be anything. Also can anyone tell me how long it should take to sit all four? Many thanks, David.

Yeah I didn't recall seeing any details about distance on the initial application, so I replied to the survey email stating my distance was 65 mins, just had the email now to say they can't progress my application due to that.

Each test has a practice segment, set aside 45 mins to an hour. Don’t overthink it. Good luck.

Many thanks J3053B, I shall try and get some over the next few days to get peace and quiet and give it a go. Obviously I wouldnt like to fail it, fear of the unknown.

Just completed the test today. To be fair most are common sense. Only thing which I would state from my limited experience is that this is a Safety Critical Role. So make sure not to overlook options which emphasise these.

I received and completed my online tests this morning. So fingers crossed!

Does anybody know if you get a choice between IM & HH or do you just get told? I’ve applied for Crewe.

Good luck with your tests! My understanding of it is that it’s dependent on what depot you’ve chosen and wether they have facilities for IM, HH or both! On that note, does anyone know if Leeds is IM or HH? Please

Sorry for this question but what is the difference from IM and HH?

I am also wondering... The online exams do they count towards your 2 attempts? Or is it only when you attend the OPC and do the psychometric exams in person?

PQ - Is this the least and most option questions?

SJT - I know what to expect... I hope anyways

TB-DT - What exactly is this? It's the first time I see this

KQ - More about myself

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

They ask you at your DMI what your preference is. I said I don't mind and pending the outcome of my medical in January I'll be starting April to be based at Crewe and looking at my conditional contract I'll be HH

Hi all, I’m also interested in knowing if these online tests I’ve been sent count towards one of your 2 lives. I’ve passed stage 1 paper tests with another TOC so am wary about hitting the link in case it kills one of my lives! Thanks for any replies.

I’ve just received a successful email from the four initial tests. Now been invited for the SJE and VSE.

These are part of the enhanced tests and are the start of the "2 fails".
Thanks Jonsutt - so the VSE and SJT are the start of the 2 fails. Are these fails just for the enhanced level as I’ve got the stage 1 psychometrics complete already. So if I fail the SJT or VSE does that void my stage 1’s?

Just got the email to the 2 online assessments, vSE and magnificent 7 situational judgement test!
Due by the 20th!

Does anyone have any practice test links- especially the visual test of following patters and letters?

Yeah got the email a couple of hours ago myself to say I'd passed the first stage and had been shortlisted.

vSE and M7SJT to be completed.

Probably have a relaxing evening good sleep and got them done tomorrow!

Good luck to all others. :)

As someone as said previously it depends on the depot, and in the managers interview they ask what you’d rather. But when/if you get offered a job you get what you’re given.

Both. HH based at Midland Road. IM based at Stourton.

IM move the container trains, are on less money but have better T&Cs. HH can drive container trains but most of the work is stone trains and on engineering (T3) sites. More money but have worse conditions.
