I think their recruitment side of things have been delayed due to absences so only one person has been doing all of the rail stuff. I’d say give them time to catch up then maybe email again

Hi everyone, just tried to catch up on this thread as much as possible.

I’m already an internal employee for FL, I passed the tests in Watford, passed the DFFT about 4ish weeks ago. Finally received the date for my TTD interview for Crewe today.

I think if I pass this interview but get thrown into the talent pool I’ll go elsewhere. I’m lucky enough to have high up contacts in other TOCs. It’s quite annoying knowing that by the time you would get on a course next year you could potentially nearly passed out in the same amount of time.

I have a question though, does anyone know which side their application is for i.e heavy haul or intermodal? I haven’t been told which one just know the advert was for both

My ex co worker went to be shunter waiting for the course. He was there a few years and still didn’t get put forward. He ended up doing his testing himself and went to GBRF. The upside was as he was already a qualified shunter they put him on shunting wage to start with rather than the first trainee

Did you go into the talent pool? Or have they got a position for you?

Did you go in the talent pool or did you get a position? Just wondering how many people got offers who did their testing this year. As others are saying passed opc last year

How long were you waiting for the offer? Were you in the talent pool for long?

For those of you in the talent pool you’re one step closer in the queue - I’ve accepted an offer with a TOC that starts in September. Good luck to you all and hope the wait isn’t too long.

I received a conditional offer from FL 1 month ago to start in July, passed all the conditions but unfortunately they pulled the offer yesterday as they told me they are not training further trainees for about 12 months due to costs. I applied for Millerhill so maybe this makes a difference

Is that depot specific do you know or is that across the board? Anybody else had there offered pulled for the July course?

I was in for Mossend and got the same news on Monday. 5 weeks out from starting the course. Sickener.

I know traffic is seriously down on the IM side and are struggling to find work for the existing drivers, so doesn’t surprise me that training courses have been pulled for the time being.

Has anyone received a letter then regards what's happening with the TTD scheme? I asked for an update today and I've received an email back stating I'm going to receive a letter but the scheme is on hold. I applied for Crewe

Anybody had any updates? Alina emailed last week saying the recruitment has been paused but that’s about it. Anybody have any info on when or if? Whole process is an emotional rollercoaster

I've heard that training and recruitment across the board has been stopped at the moment. Seems very short sighted to me. They had this huge recruitment drive, massive new all singing all dancing training school in Ipswich and now they are stopping it all. I know traffic is down at the moment and a quite a few services have been taken out leaving quite a few of spare turns in all our depots. I would imagine eventually it will pick up and training will resume, but for now I can't see any new courses commencing unfortunately but that's just my view based on what I've seen and heard.
