Are there any Freightliner Driving instructors or Admin that could ‘shed’ (a double pun) any light on the number of trainee driver courses and any potential dates for them for this coming year.
I’m about to sit Stage 2 psychometrics, so appreciate I’m a long way off.

There's a course each month upto and including April (I'll be on that one) but don't know after that. These courses are from November 2021 advert.

I passed my psychometrics by march 2022 then had dmi in may 2022. Then we were told in June that we would placed in candidate pool and would be contacted towards the end of 2022 for a start month for 2023. Found that out end of Nov 2022 and had medical Jan 2023.

Many thanks for this update.
I kind of figured these early courses were from your Nov 21 process.
Was wondering if there are any pencilled in beyond April 23.
Quite a long stretched out process for you then, from initial application.
But worth the wait.
Congratulations by the way.
It’s a great achievement.
Fingers crossed for my stage 2 on Monday.
Thanks again and all the best for April.

There’s definitely more after April. We have 2 new trainers shadowing our course who are running one in Ipswich in June / July.

Blake Jones came and spoke with all the staff at Ferrybridge last week.

He said that by the summer both the new Doncaster and Ipswitch training facilities would be up and running the new training programme.

That they planned to take on another 70 trainee drivers this year.

That they have now got the required number of mentors coming through for the amount of trainees.

They have a program in place to bring back into service the class 70s that they took out of service during covid.

Thanks for the update Tony. That’s good to know that there is potentially courses running throughout the year.
Hope your training is going well.

I think Taunton is as far south West as they go:
Freightliner Train Crew Site Office,
High Output Track Renewals Fairwater Freight Yard
Silk Mills Lane Taunton
TA1 5AA

Not happy at GBRf anymore?
Imagine if you will for a moment, if the very first productive diagram you ever worked was the only diagram you ever worked. And all around you were other drivers telling you about how they were stuck on the same route everyday for years or the same diagram. After six months of that, would you look to leave?

Didn't know it was a train crew site, when I asked people who worked there around 5 years back they told me it is satellite site and the drivers are from Stoke Gifford.

You may well be right.
I made the ‘assumption’ that it was referring to drivers. (There in lies the problem).
Apologies for any misinformation shared.
