Spotted what looked like a freshly painted Freightliner 66 in the Powerhaul livery yesterday whilst passing Crewe at a distance. Can anyone confirm if this is true or if I need another trip to the opticians?!

If it is undercoat why does it look the same as the rest of the grey? and why does it not go all the way down?

I thought the 70s looked bad, but that is certainly a contender for ugliness, even the Polish one isn't good.

Given the tidy application I would hazard a guess at a permanent application as to a primer etc. Does look rather odd though doesnt it either way!

i have to say it doese look quite nice & eye catching but i think the old livery of green with yellow ends suited them & i would like to see what a class 70 looks like in the current livery carried by the 66's

Is that even silver painted buffer shanks i see too? :|

Although i do think the front now has a touch of ARC Class 59 about it.

I must say, I do prefer the Polish interpretation which actually looks smart without the excess of grey on the front.

I don't like this new livery; aside from the grey it's overly fussy and doesn't suit the class 66 at all. Doesn't seem appropriate for a freight company. Prefer the old one.

I prefer those Class 66s in that picture from outside the EMD plant in Canada. The ones that were in all over grey.
