Got my confirmation email today booked in for a medical in 2 weeks.
Driver job in Crewe. I guess once I pass the medical then I wait for a training course slot.
Fingers crossed!

Thanks everyone I'm beyond excited haha.
No all I have date wise is a medical booked in. I'll only quit my job when I have a definite start date.
You also have to go online and pay for a background check which they reimburse with proof of purchase.
I guess once all that's passed then they give a start date.
Hope to see you all there soon :)

I’m in exactly the same position as you. Done my medical, done my disclosure and now waiting for a start date. IM @ Crewe

I was advised not to read up on the rule book , wait until you start your training as they will teach you in a structured way

When I sat my dmi they were in the planning stage for this years course and next years was still work in progress.

They said the issue wasn’t training course dates and numbers it’s making sure there was enough mentor drivers to spend with the trainees after rules.

I think the standard is 225 hours so you can imagine how long that would take somebody to work through.

They said they were running courses every month next year through to summer.

Hard part is done, got reassurances that if your in a pool your guaranteed a job, enjoy the time.

If you really can’t wait without doing something have a read through a few rule book modules ?

Where did you hear that if you were in a pool you’d be guaranteed a job? I really hope this is accurate!

Yep, I was told don’t be disheartened if we put you in a pool, it’s because we need to sort out the mentors etc, it won’t be like any other pool where your just kept waiting it will be a guaranteed job

That’s really good to hear, I wasn’t told that myself. But I am in a pool, the email though words as though you weren’t successful... in regards to final candidates but we would like to put you in a pool and contact you when a position becomes available.

It does all sound very positive and not having a definite start date even if it might be 6 months away would be a big help I think it's the not having it in black and white that keeps you edge. I'm hoping once this medical is over on the 13th I will hear back from them then.

HR told me that it's a guaranteed job, don't worry about it too much (trust me I've done enough of that).
Those of us in the pool will get there at some point next year.

I hope so! :D

Honestly mate I've thought of every possible scenario, there's alot of other who have been told the same thing and I don't believe we've been lied too. I've got alot of confidence in Freightliner and fully believe we will all get there. Have you had a look at the other Freightliner thread on here, it answers alot of questions.

Yeah I have! I have applied for Crewe but only had my interview end of last month. I know that a lot of Crewe people are starting in November.

Hi mate, I’m Crewe as well. Not starting in Nov either. Was told it will be Feb or May, think it depends on Driver instructors being available.
