On the 10th Septemeber 86638 was noted stabled in bay platform 2 in York station at 08.00 and yesterday I spotted86627 stabled light engine in York Holgate sidings at 17.45. I know in the past the 86s can be routed through York overnight on freight duties if diverts from West Coast are on. However I have never seen 2 in daylight hours in York before. Can anyone shed any light is this is going to be a regular occurence and why they are in York. I'm not complaining cos I need more than half of them for sight but just curious what duties they are performing. Thanks !

Its a bit early for ice breaking runs. Is not that cold at night yet

i actually do not know, i've just been getting loads of gen from north east gen about it, it seems odd to see an fl 86 on the ecml rather than wcml, it could be for rhtt trains for sandite season or yeah, maybe a new flow...
