Just got back from a quick trip to Thirsk. Highlights include 66 on steel, 66/7 (below) and GBRf Coal along with a 225 set working in reverse formation. Also seen was an XC HST set which ran South on the centre roads at the same time as 1N25 (GC HST) and 1A61 (GC 180) were sat in the slow-line platforms.

As usual pics are at http://www.clagmonster.fotopic.net

THE HEADBOARD IS ABOUT T BE UNLEASHED!!!! <D

Considering making a trip up your way (Northallerton/Thirsk) on Friday. Is thirsk better for freight? As i went to northallerton to film for a project of intercity trains late last year, and thought i heard a tug. then it appeared on the branch line heading towards York!

Thisrk is no godd for Northbound freight, you can't see much of the Fastline's so it is really just TPE, GC and Southbound freight that you can get there.

At Northallerton if you set up on the Northern end of plat 2 you see everything on the fast lines (inc. GBRf Coal and Jarrow Oil Tanks) it also allows you to dash down to the avoider when a the barriers come down.

If you are coming by car then I have another location you may like which gives shots like:

This location is on the Middlesbrough branch and has plenty of warning of approcahing trains.

You will get steel, coal, container, intermodal, GC & TPE passenger workings.

Let me know your plans and I'll make a few more suggestions.
