im currently a freight train driver, and am thinking long and hard about applying for XC trains, however it’s in Newcastle and I’m currently based in the Manchester area. questions are if anyone can tell me what xc are like to work for, shifts they work, routes out of Newcastle etc etc, I understand this would require me to relocate and that’s along way off as we all know how difficult recruitment is just to become a qualified driver.
Any information regarding cost of living etc would be appreciated as I’m aware already looking at the job advertisement, my pay would go down until Qualified with xc, finally what are the chances do company’s accept relocation applications very often, as I know there very sort after positions, please go easy and if any current Qualified would like to pm me then it would be appreciated thanks again and sorry for the big waffle.........
