Just wondered whats the best place in the east Midlands for freight spotting?

not really east midlands but doncaster is fairly close, sorry i know thats rather unhelpful

Equally, not East Midlands either, but my next suggestion would have been Nuneaton

AFAIK the East Mids is defined as Derbs, Leics, Notts and Lincs, so Chesterfield fits in there, but you know that's just me. Sorry, stupid question, why do people always go to places like Chesterfield, Nuneaton etc to trainspot, but not Leicester, Nottm and Lincoln?

It's more about the volume and variety of trains and trying to avoid the boredom factor

As an example, Nuneaton can throw up some unexpected workings and fairly regular freights no matter what time of day
