Freight on the Marston Vale line?

Hi everybody,

I did a search and after about 5-6 pages of topics, gave up.

I'm looking for information on any freight that uses Marston Vale, preferably during the week. I read a long time ago that there was considerable freight on a Sunday, but don't know if this was true or still is true.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you

I don't think anything goes into Forders anymore, there is the odd stone working that goes to Bletchley still if I recall.

The only regular freight at present is the empty cemex hoppers from
Bletchley to Peak Forest on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

Back in July, a nightly train of spoil ran from East Grinstead to Forders
for three weeks, returning south during the morning; this traffic is in
connection with the Bluebell line extension project, and is expected
to restart again in a few weeks.


Apart from that, it's all just one offs and specials - for example,
the 'drain train' is booked to be working on the line during the night
all next week and there is a daytime Derby to Derby test train next
Tuesday which is booked to traverse the Marston Vale line, including
the flyover at Bletchley!

Iirc they now go down the wcml to bletchley and back via the mvl and mml.
