Freight in Newcastle

sorry if this is in the wrong area on the forums. Not really sure where this fits in.

Would anyone know if some good places to see freight in the Newcastle area? Any suggestions please would be great!

I am an occasional visitor to the area to watch the trains so I stand to be corrected, but for me Eaglescliffe is the best place for freight. Freightmaster provides tables for scheduled freight at about seven different locations in the area depending on how far you want to travel including Newcastle station itself. It varies slightly from day to day at Eaglescliffe with Wednesday just edging it with the most freight. It depends on what time of day you go but according to Freightmaster there are 11 scheduled freight on a Wednesday between 9am and 5pm. Of course some of these will be ‘run as required’ so may not run and there maybe extra one off’s on the day.
