In todays health conscious world how much longer will the above offer be available ?

I for one would sorely regret it's demise, but realise i am probably in a minority. To me, three or four Scotches makes for an ideal trip.

GWR and Cross Country seem to be able to avoid this perk on comparable length journeys. Do the other two do it as they are considered the blue ribbon of rail travel ?

Does anyone know if Virgins successor plans to continue with the free tipples.

I realise there are more pressing issues facing the railway, but would like to hear members views on this topic.

It would be a very sad day if the free wine went.

The few times i have used west coast first class have been late on a Firday. User numbers were low and alcohol service was high ;)

Never travelled First Class rail in the UK, (unless you count the "declassified" 1st dining car on the Derby - St. Pancras HST's in the early 1980's), however I have managed it once in Finland where no free food or drink were offered and on a DB ICE from Frankfurt Airport to Karlsruhe where a free Kit-Kat was forthcoming, (but only a 2-finger version)!

Maybe that's why it's not so expensive elsewhere? ;)
