franchise stock changes

as the new t.o.c's have taken over, i was just wondering if any one has seen any units of place and in unusual places they never usually go,
today i saw 150108 in centro colours at bedford on the Bletchley- bedford service (also any idea where the silverlink ex 150's are going london overground or london midland).

FGW are taking 2 ex-Silverlink 150/1s on short term hire to cover for unit shortages, 1 of which, 150127, moved from Willesden to St Phillips Marsh today.

1617 Worcester-Dorridge is 3x153 apparently which is reasonably unusual AFAIK. Saw a green 350 earlier, didn't look to bad IMO.

FGW are taking 2 ex-Silverlink 150/1s on short term hire to cover for unit shortages, 1 of which, 150127, moved from Willesden to St Phillips Marsh today.

Presume 121/127 units involved as those were those rumoured to be staying short term for Bed-Bley until needed for extra Gospel Oak services in December timetable. I think!!

As there has been no mention of GNER, i was just wondering does anybody know what the first HST Power Cars and Stock will be to have the NatEx Livery applied to and when? personally i think it will look nice and a good change from the dull Navy and Red

The first set to be done in the full new livery by Wabtec will be EC59 as part of its refurb - I'm unsure if this set is in works yet or not.

I've heard that there is a set "under wraps" at craigentinny with the new livery,dont know how true it is but the info did come from a GNER driver,also someone(a gner employee,I think)has posted a pic of a MKIV in the "dot 2 dot" livery on the railchat forum,rail news section,"lack of nxec news",page 5 !! dont ask me to post link coz I DONT KNOW HOW TO !!!! LOL

Oh,your back are you ! I was well aware it was a "CGI Representation" thats why I had posted earlier about it being on another forum,also If a GNER driver wishes to tell me there is a set in Craigentinny,why should I not believe him,its from "the horses mouth" so to speak !

Cheers GalaxyLBC, now IMO i think the NatEx Livery looks nice, can't wait to see the HSTs in it, as it's colourful, but when they get filthy won't they all look abit shabby and horrible?

Unless the Mark 4 coach is hidden underground, then there aren't any spare Mark 4 coaches at Craigentinny, never mind an entire set in the new livery!
There were two spare Mark 3 HST coaches there on Friday, both in GNER livery
There is however a HST set about to come off works at WABTEC, but that too is probably in GNER livery

As I understand it NatEx have said they are retaining the GNER livery until early in 2008, but will be replacing the red stripe with a different colour

Operationally there is always a spare Mark 4 set at Craigentinny, with a Class 91
It is however swapped over during the day with another set or the following day

And, sadly, it seems to remove any of the old fashioned style that was associated with GNER. The traditional uniforms, the 'Route of the Flying Scotsman' badges etc. It just looks like yet another average modern TOC. GNER was something a bit different.

It does look dull and the white sections will be dirty within days what with brake dust etc !

True, and you'd have thought NX would have learned from MML which never seemed to manage to keep the HSTs looking clean in the new livery. Meridiens don't seem as bad, I presume the somewhat cleaner exhausts and reduced brake dust (since they use rheostatic brakes down to low speed) are big factors in that. Then again, even with modern trains poor liveries can make them look dirty. The red rooves of Virgin trains are a good example, with Voyagers quickly being blackend from the exhausts and Pendolinos from the pantographs (which give off a lot of carbon dust), and in both cases the airodynamics of the front ends will also fling air up onto the rooves of bridges and tunnels and dislodge dirt that builds up there, which often includes soot from steam locos aswell as diesel exhausts, and this wil fall onto the trains aswell. To make matters worse, the train washes don't do the rooves. Same applies to some units like the Networkers with light coloured underfloor equipment covers, which get covered in brake dust aswell as other dust thrown up from the track, and again look dirty (they also have light rooves, but a lot of SR trainwashes do wash the rooves, and of cource there are no exhausts or pantographs to dirty them up).
