Four Passengers Reading - London GroupSave Best Option?

Next week four of us will be travelling together Reading to Paddington leaving around 10 am and returning the same day in the evening, so at off peak times. Two of us have Senior Railcards and two none.

Is GroupSave our best bet? Could we get tickets with London Travelcards using GroupSave?

GroupSave will be the best option, and yes you can get travelcards with GroupSave.

It's worth noting that a Reading to London Off-Peak Day Travelcard has time restrictions in the evening, which exclude most GWR services that depart Paddington between 16:00 and 19:06. However, you can still take Elizabeth line services during this period.

If you wanted to take a fast GWR train during that period, it would probably be cheaper to eschew the GroupSave discount and to use contactless PAYG, since this would apply the off-peak daily cap to travel in the evening 'peak' too. That would limit the cost to £35.40 each.

Thanks for that Watershed, I don't think we are likely to be returning until a fair bit later in the evening, so should not be affected by those restrictions.
