I bought a new laptop yesterday. It has a touch screen and runs Windows 8.1. It's the first time I've used anything newer than Vista. I have successfully used it to read and post on these forums.

But no longer! I'm typing this on my old laptop. While browsing these forums on the new machine I accidentally touched some key, or something on the screen, and all the text within the RailUK Forums instantly switched to a microscopic font size that I can't read.

Other websites, including the SSC forums which I think are based on similar software, are not affected. Text not viewed via the web is not affected.

Logging off, shutting down and restarting the computer, and temporarily disconnecting the mains and battery, do not cure the problem.

Can anyone help please?

It's probably just the browser zoom setting.
Try ctrl and +
or ctrl and mousewheel, or possibly with a 'reverse pinch' gesture on touchscreen or mousepad.

Five Ctrl-"+"s in series worked. Many thanks.

I'd never had much occasion to use this and I always assumed that it applied to all web pages, not just the site you were viewing at the time.
