Forum Ticket Site Does NOT let me select seats (TPE)

I am trying to book seats for my wife and I from Leeds to Newcastle on TPE

I have chosen the fare (1st) and wanted to edit the seats .. I select two 'available seats' but an "Something went wrong" error message keeps popping up

Am I doing something wrong ?

I would try with the TPE site, but prices are higher on their own site

This usually happens because you've got the last seat in the quota and so it can't put the one you have back and grab another with the chosen seat. I guess it worked because someone had one in their basket and then released it.

There can be other blockers too, such as certain seats not being reservable for certain ticket types or for certain journeys.

Without a search link and details of the desired seats, it's difficult to comment, other than in very vague terms.

When I last tried to book Liverpool-York, the Trainsplit site said it didn't know the direction of travel for TPE 802s, so the seat selector may not give you the seat you expect.
The TPE site appears to get it right, or at least it did when I booked.

It was for seats E17 / E20

TPE train Leeds (15:44) >> Newcastle (10th June 25)

There were two table seats allocated every time, but when I tried to change, the error message popped up. i tried a few times and even tried to select other random seats, all without luck

I left the site, then went to TPE direct, but their price was higher

I made my comment on the forum, then shortly after tried again and it was working .. E17/E20 became available
