Forum Text Editor

Whenever I try to post a new thread or reply to a post on the forum, all the text editing buttons (e.g. "B" for bold) are greyed out/disabled and don't work and I have to use the BBCode forum syntax to make it work. Does anyone know why this is and how I can fix this?

Press the [] button, even though it's also greyed out.

Thank you! I don't know if the forum team can make any changes to make that more obvious or if it's down just to whoever wrote the forum software, but if they can, I think it could be more obvious.
