Right ok maybe im missing something here or just not read something but when people post comments on subjects on here, at the bottom under there comment they claim to own a particular loco or multiple unit..........

Can someone explain to me what thats all about?

Thats million numbers they've simply bought the number from them.

They buy the number of the loco they want - not meaning that the loco is their's!

As Dai. said no need for there to be a point, is there any point in Gear jamming, just breaks them ;)

I own 50044 and some others in million numbers, I own a very small part of the real one too ;) (very small but still a "share")

I don't 'get it' either. But as I have turned off signatures it doesn't bother me at all :)

I own 50044 and some others in million numbers, I own a very small part of the real one too (very small but still a "share")

Could you paint your very small part of 50044 BR blue and try and get the others to paint there bits to match? ;)

Anyone could start a website and claim to give out numbers. There's probably a market for a site giving out numbers of locos and maybe dishing out 'avatars' consisting of a 2D side drawing of the loco at the same time. Probably a market in that if anyone can be bothered to make such a site!

I've also turned off signatures, and display pictures, this means the site loads much faster for me when I'm on my laptop on a wireless/mobile connection :)

Fortunately the mobile theme disables all signatures/avatars anyway, making this site one of the easiest to use on a mobile device :D

For a minute then, I thought people had actually paid money for a number! Relieved to see they are 'sold' for free, and the people on here that have 'bought' them arn't completely out of their minds ;)

Personally, when I see a loco I have a model of, I see it slightly as 'my' engine.
