Absolute belter of a race this afternoon, and for those who haven't seen it yet, the only spoilers I'm going to mention are .....

1. World title has been decided :P

2. Cracking drive from Hulkenberg, but I think the drive through was very harsh.

I don't think it was that harsh. The move didn't stick and he took out a mclaren preventing the team gaining 2nd place constructors.

If you take the inside line and take someone out in the process you should expect a penalty.

Felt very sorry for the driver that came 2nd in drivers championship, particulary during the shot of him just staring into nothingness while the number one driver celebrated.

I don't think it was harsh honestly as appeared to be a racing incident to me.

The fact the Yellow Flags/ Lights where ignored even though visable for Vettel though was a joke.

I feel sorry for Alonso as would have prefered him to win to make a change then due to the winner for the past three years.

Fantastic drive from Button though and from Hulkenberg. And a massive shame for Di Resta as well for losing it so late into the race.

Vettel did nothing wrong, apparently....

Sky Website said:
The FIA have insisted that Sebastian Vettel's controversial overtake past Kamui Kobayashi on lap nine Brazilian GP was legal, Sky Sports F1 have reported.

According to Sky F1 pundit Martin Brundle, race stewards deemed the pass to have taken place under the red-yellow flags which warn drivers of slippery conditions.

Had the move been deemed to have occurred when yellow flags were being waved then Vettel's overtake would have been illegal and his title victory could, at least in theory, have been subject to a retrospective appeal.

"I've spoken to Gary Connolly, one of the race stewards, and he has absolutely confirmed that they were red-and-yellow boards - didn't look much like that from the somewhat grainy and rainy yellow on-board footage, did it?" Martin said.

Judge for yourself by watching the video

And if it was Alonso who done that he would be punished. It is an absolute joke that Vettel can get away with it. Also the first lap, he took out Senna and what happened, oh yer, NOTHING!!!!! A few people say the FIA try and help Ferrari out, but by looks of things they help Red Bull out. If the stewards and FIA actually had the guts and courage then Vettel would of had to served 2 drive through penalties for the incidents, but since it didnt happen then all we can hope for is a Ferrari appeal over both incidents, 20 seconds added for each incident which means Alonso is World Champion, but I very much that will happen

I thought so to Bungle - the same asHulkenbergs incident.

Great way to end the season though with a great race.

Both racing incidents I would say, although you could make cases for both to say they weren't.

Vettel: Visibility wasn't so bad at that point, at only the fourth turn it's natural that the track is going to be crowded and taking the line he did, you cannot realistically expect nobody to be on the inside. He got away with it though and moving to the back of the field was probably penalty enough, regardless of moving swiftly back through. I cannot help but feel that if the situation was reversed, the radio contact and subsequent action may have been different.

Hulkenberg: Given the conditions, it wasn't the wisest thing to do, going in so hot. But there was obviously no intention to take Hamilton out, the back end kicking out is not done on purpose, but a more experienced driver would possibly have been more cautious.

Hamilton appeared to give him plenty of room too but I rewound it and it looked like Hulkenberg aquaplaned a bit first before his end stepped out.

Hamilton can be safe in the knowledge that there will be a lot more of that next season when he inevitably starts each race much further down the grid

Schumacher let vettel through to 6th rather easily I thought.

More of a limitation of the Mercedes IMO, seeing it basically chews the tyres to shreds. To make them last, he has to slow down a bit, otherwise they don't last very long.

But he put up a fight and kept 7th against the next driver, can't remember who it was now, I therefore can't agree with your comment on this occasion or he wouldnt of defended 7th place.

He was fighting Kobayashi though (the next guy after Vettel), causing Kamui to spin. He still dropped back steadily though after Vettel overtook him. Only the safety car at the end made it look better than it actually was.

Talking of Kobayashi though, I find it surprising he hasn't got a drive for next season (yet). He generates a lot of interest in F1 from Japan, and is possibly 1 of the best overtakers in F1 currently.

Wow. Just wow.

I won't comment on Vettel (other than to say that there were definitely red-and-yellow flags), or Button, or Alonso, or Schumi, or Hamilton, or ... ... ...

Instead, congratulations to Caterham. They have sealed 10th in the Constructors' Championship, and have also achieved the highest ever finish for one of the New Teams after Petrov secured 11th right at the death after Di Resta's incident. And 12th was the guy who will be joining them next year (Pic).

The Senna affair was a racing incident imho.

Unfortunately there have been a few incidents like that which have been penalised, especially since Senna was on the racing line and had his front wheels level/slightly ahead of Vettel's back wheels which according to the latest directive should have meant that Vettel was given a drive through for causing a collision

After this one, I had no nails left. The best race I've ever seen. And Raikkonen providing the entertainment again, with a little exploring

It is just as well, then, that Mercedes don't have a driver who has a history of tyre wear being an Achilles' heel.

Oh, err... hold on a minute.....

Both drivers have struggled to make the tyres last through out the season. It will probably be the same next year as well seeing as Hamilton is an aggressive drive as well.

I was refering to Hamilton as he has a history of being let down by trying to run his tyres too long... ;)

Certainly a good race! Interlagos is a wonderful venue for championship deciders. Vettel deserved the title in the end, he really is Schumacher's heir apparent and has the same infernal luck. Alonso certainly gave him a good run for his money, though. I will be the first to admit that his Ferrari was not the fastest car out there, yet he led the championship for months. So, we have a new three-times world champion.

Incidentally, my 9-6-4-3-2-1 championship gave exactly the same result, Vettel won by three points, the first year this has happened. And Grosjean's latest accident confirms that he has earnt this year's Andrea de Cesaris Trophy.

So, pack up your kit and get back to the computers and wind tunnels. It's only four months to the next race.

I must have been completely asleep since Sunday as I had not seen or heard this until today. Regarding the Senna/Vettel incident into turn 4 which we could attribute as a racing incident although if there was any blame to be had, it would be towards Vettel for turning in. It seems that after the race in another interview, Vettel made this comment...

Well let's see, the grave of Ayrton Senna is here in Sao Paulo, at the graveyard in Morumbi. One has to go there and tell him what is nephew did today, which did not help us ...

I'm not a huge fan of the way the guy conducts himself anyway, and also the way that he has often apportioned the blame to others for his own mistakes. But to make a comment like that, terrible.

For a comment like that is pretty sick (IMO) overal.

But then for Vettel didn't he have a go towards Button for unlapping himself at a previous race?

Same as you Darren for the incident with Senna, Vettel is at fault since Senna did have racing postion/ racing line.

It was a faster Hamilton unlapping himself against Vettel, but yes, the 'lucky one' did have a go about it (branded it 'stupid' as I recall).

Well, I guess it's not over until it's over!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/20531638

It's worth noting that this is a completely different incident to the one spoken about earlier in the thread, about the red/yellow flags.

I thought this was all settled? The FIA already looked into it and decided that it was in fact black and yellow flags/lights he passed not yellow.
