When did slam door trains last run on the West Anglia Main line?
I understand 321's use to work Cambridge services as well when did that cease and when did 315's first start running on the Lea Valley lines because when they were first introduced they only worked the Shenfield services.

There’s a YouTube video of a cab ride of a class 47 hauling a Kings Lynn service in 1989. Think they stopped running that year.

Were there not through services via the WAML from London until electrification in 1992?

As an ex Cambridge boy and spending far to much time on Cambridge station in the 80's I can recall the following:

London Liverpool Street - Cambridge services used to be class 37's which changed to Stratford allocated Class 47's in the early 80's (which used to also go to Kings Lynn).

After WAML electrification in the late 80's Cambridge - Liverpool St services used to be Class 305 or Class 308 EMU's with Class 86's (and Mk 2 stock) used on the Liverpool Street - Kings Lynn's to Cambridge and then swapping over to Class 47's.

When the Cambridge - Kings Lynn section was electrified (1992 seems to sound about right) the service was put in the hands of Class 317's all the way to Lynn (if my memory is any good).

Yes there was a short period when 321's worked to Cambridge. 302's, 310's, 312's and a 303 and a 313 has also visited to.

Hope this info helps.

As for 315's on the Lea Valley... i would have a guess of sometime in the 1990's.

Following the electrification from Bishops stortford to Cambridge in the late 80s, services were initally worked by loco hauled with class 86 or outer suburban 305s. These were replaced by the 321s when new in 1989 along with class 310 slam door units cascaded from Euston/Northampton. The 321s didn't last long before being transfered to Great Eastern.

The introduction of class 365 units on Great Northern around 1997 displaced several class 317 units including the class 317/2 sub class which were refurbished into 317/6 - 317649 to 317672. These went to West Anglia replacing the last of the Slam door 310s

So Class 310's were still running on the WAML until as recently as 1997?
