For many years there was an ex steam loco tender at Tinsley Depot(it was a rusty black colour and had a white 'face' painted on the side with an arrow comming out from it).I saw it on visits in the mid 80's,but does anyone know anything about it i.e it's identity(was it assigned a departmental/internal user number),what was it used for and what happened to it disposal wise.Any info appreciated,Chris.

That's it in the background in this 1982 photo. I remember it too but I don't know what they used it for or where it went.

also show a couple of glimpses of it. In one of the pictures it has vertical metal plates, with attached cables, poking out of the top. Does the "skull" and lightning flash thing painted on the side mean that it was used for something electrical???
