I may have left my sleeper tickets at home. The one departing tonight is operated by MAV. What are my options? Will the attendant accept that my name is on his list and let me travel anyway? If a neighbour can find it and send me a scan will this be fine?

Do you have them online? That works in my experience, though is a bit annoying because they need to write down some ticket number.

No, I've no electronic copy and the agent will be closed today.

Then I'm not sure the attendant will even have your name on a list.
I've managed to get a scan of the originals sent now. They were issued on DB ticket stock. At least I know what berth I'm in now

The MAV attendant was a lovely woman who took pity upon me so I'm on my way to Budapest. Hopefully the NJ attendant on my return will do the same.
