Hello. For those who have a Ford with the Sync 3 mapping software.
I have a 4 year Old Ford Kuga. Last year there was an update for the Sync 3 + mapping so I did it with no problems. There is now another update available but I’m having trouble.
To do the update first you confirm there’s an update available, which there is, then download it onto the computer. Then you unzip the file and load it to a flash drive which you then insert into the cars USB socket. The software then updates.
I’m having a problem downloading the file onto the computer. It’s a large file of 22 gigabytes. The download begins ok then after a period of time, say 10-20 minutes it stops with the ‘network connection lost’ coming up. I’ve tried it numerous times on both a Windows PC and a Mac with the same result. On all occasions my internet is still working ok and still connected.
I know little about how the internet works. Could this be a problem at Ford’s end?
Edit: Apologies if this should be in the ‘Other Transport’ section.
