For HS1 Fans

Afternoon all..

Sorry I can't bold or italicise or anything clever like that but please read below for a chance to use HS1 at no extra charge tomorrow and for the next day or so (assuming you can make it through the snow....)

Revised timetable from Wednesday 6 January 2010

Freezing temperatures, snow and ice have been forecast over the next few days

To ensure we’re able to run the best service possible in these weather conditions a revised Metro and Mainline timetable will be in place from Wednesday 6 January 2010

Please note this means a limited number of services will arrive in London before 9am

High Speed services are expected to run as per the normal timetable.

All Southeastern ticket holders can use High Speed services at no extra cost and tickets will be accepted on London Underground on reasonable routes

The revised timetable will be loaded into National Rail Enquiries overnight

I had a joke with one of the platform staff last night that if HS1 was running to timetable then it would be an improvement on the normal service! And amazingly for just about the first time since the new timetable was introduced it ran exactly to time!

Still, good move by Southeastern. I'd guess that even if they start to run into problems in third-rail land they'll at the very least be able to run St Pancras-Stratford-Ebsfleet-Ashford shuttles.
