if redknapp goes for the england job, it'll have been a change for the better for the team. come to think of it, any new manager might be a change for the better!
i don't know the facts of redknapp's trial, obviously not having been in the court. the jury have had the facts given to them. if they found him not guilty than i am happy to accept that and have no issue with him managing england.
from a footballing point of view, if he goes for the england job, i would be happy; anyone new would surely bring better tactics than capello. redknapp's a good manager; i'd love to see him in the england job.

England are a lost cause now. A manager is only as good as the players he can use. How many of the Spurs top XI are eligible to play for England? What about players from the top half of the table?

The England problem goes far beyond a manager: it's a team that has a superiority complex, is unable to understand it's diminishing status in world football and a media which demands win every competition. England simply do not have a divine right to win.

i meant more in terms of formation. 4-2-3-1 with wilshere and lampard holding? and the world cup squad was ridiculous. he seemed to be improving in later games, but i still wouldn't mind redknapp!

Capello had no choice, he had to stand up to the FA, or he would of been seen as soft.
Capello picks the 11 not the FA,and it was his choice of captain, so it was never going to work having the Old out of date FA doing undermining him.

Every England manager has the FA sat on there shoulder, why do you think Brian Clough was never appointed, they do not want somebody strong.

I go off to cook my dinner (an ITALIAN course I might - and no, not pizza) and this is what I come back to?!

Fabio gave a good performance as manager but it was undermined by the performance at the World Cup when we basically failed. Even if Lampard's goal had been given, as everyone and their mother knows it should have been, the tournament would have been a failure. Otherwise though, Fabio did a solid job, although it wasn't as much of a highlight as some would argue Sven's time was (Munich anyone?).

In fact, with that in mind, Sven should never have left in my opinion. I would suggest that he is behind only Sir Bobby Robson and Sir Alf Ramsey in terms of what he achieved as England manager. Speaking of which, he is out of a job isn't he? We could do a lot worse than bring him back! (Apparently one Ken Bates was interviewed on Yorkshire Radio earlier today, and stated that Sven had applied for the Leeds position, but had been declined!)

Ultimately my first choice would be 'Arry. And I know a lot of people who would agree, even if many of you seemingly don't. Having said that though, I would be happy if Jose took over, but that is unlikely to happen in time for the Euros (for what it's worth).

Well, the two non-English managers that have been in charge haven't done anything to suggest otherwise.

You can already see what is wrong with the England setup now Capello has gone. The press and the other media have already shoe-horned Redknapp into the job even though the FA have not advertised the vacancy yet.

Now, every time Harry appears in public he will be deluged with nonsensical questions about whether he is taking the job.

They use the spurious "bookies favourite" to mean the media favourite, and he is just who they want because they can get someone in the job who they think they can influence. They can't do this with foreign managers of England because any silly questions just receive a blank look of 'me no comprende' from the manager.

Basically, the newspapers want to pick the team and dont want a manager who will ignore them and their ideas.

It will all end in tears after some lower ranked country beats us at Wembley, then whoever has the poisened chalice (managers job) will be featured on the back pages with his head as a root vegetable.

And the whole sorry saga will be repeated all over again.....
