Credit where its due we played really well tonight and should have won. But we just cannot keep teams out and it is getting very worrying. The problem is we have a pretty horrendous run in. Playing a lot of the top teams in the last 10 or so games. If we are not well clear of the bottom 3 entering these game then we have problems. The teams at the bottom will start fighting and battling for every point during this period.
I still maintain we are not immune from relegation just yet. There is always one team every season that drops from a seemingly safe position to get relegated

Would being relegated have a positive impact with a big clear out and starting from scratch as it were aka Newcastle United ?

That is what will happen in the summer relegation or not. I can see at least 10 out and probably 7 or 8 in. Getting shot of a lot of high earners from the Saint Martin days. The only trouble is I don't trust mcleish to spend wisely

Well Arsenals fall from grace continues unabated, however we have stopped the rot (albeit for a little while) we manged to keep a clean sheet in an away game, we failed to score as well but what was i expecting.

The fall from grace is such that they are nearer to Blackburn then they are the Manchester clubs. 7 points from 7 games laying in 7th place means that if they were near the bottom it would be regarded as a relgation fight.

I think all our domestic problems tend to be somewhat put into perspective by the events in the Egyptian League that occurred at Port Said where a pitch invasion and confrontation between opposing fans, led to a death total of 75, with over 1,000 being injured.

Thanks for promotion from League 1 Simon. Wish you had been backed by the chairman and the rest of the board. Wasn't too keen on the fondness of loanees, or the sometimes odd squad and tactical choices. He will be missed, we are not going up this year.

I also thought Harvey's comment about the transfer window closing and then sacking Grayson was a disgrace. Basically, they have waited for the early renewel ST deadline to pass and the transfer window to close then they have sacked Grayson. So the new manager won't be able to buy any new players, amazing business by Bates and Harvey.

Fully agree, the statement was totally insensitive. When our dear leader did his address to the nation yesterday, he wasn't best pleased that Simon had said he hadn't been backed in the window during his post match interview.

I know I could have posted this earlier, but as far as football goes I am a happy bunny right now. Man Utd lost 6-1 at home to City. We BEAT them. Ha ha ha ha ha. Neither Manchester club is as good as they both would like to think!

This is my point. There isn't really anyone who is both experienced and deserving enough to be captain. At present we may as well pick a name out of a hat before every game and make that person captain...

Gerrard will probably win, but I don't agree that he is the best choice. In practice, I don't think there is a "best choice" period.

Some prima donna who thinks he's better at football than he actually is will get it. Not that it narrows down which one.

When it comes to the England team I would wipe the board clean and look in the championship for players who have heart and the desire to play for their country. It doesn't matter to me how well they do as long as they don't see playing for their country as an inconvenience. How often have we seen an injury putting someone out of an England game onto to be miraculously fit for the champions/domestic league? Perhaps Sir Alex will know
