I never watched the Arsenal game but noticed the attendance given on the BBC site is 60019.

Are Arsenal season ticket holders forced into buying cup match tickets like Man U fans are/were even if they don't want them hence the attendance is given as a sell out?

What Arsenal do is, is to include all season tickets that are sold whether you turn up or not. So say there is 45,000 season ticket holders plus 6,500 Villa fans and 9,000 tickets that will go on General sale you will get 60,000 every game.

Technically they are not forced to buy, however if you buy a season ticket the price includes All Premier League Games, All FA Cup Games & all Champions League games played at home. If i had continued to buy my season ticket the admission fee would be £1075.00. The one reason i gave up is that i wouldnt be able to afford it. Hope this helps.

I spoke too soon earlier, however it still papers over the cracks neither of the Arsenal goals were good 2 pens and a deflection is not exactly convincing, however as a former Arsenal supporter (now just a follower) i will take it as a positive.

That my friend is the second lowest season ticket price, that is why Arsenal fans grumble more then any other, because they pay the highest prices for admission to a game. Arsenal make profit just from programme sales alone, let alone any other thing that is sold. You should try going to any of the club shops on a match day(Arsenal have 4 that i know of) talk about kerching!

They are the only solvent club in the top 10 at the moment (what i mean by that is that not reliant on a sugar daddy to bail them out), they were the only club in the Premier to record a operating profit, they are the only club whoose debt is managable and by 2014 will be the only club not in debt at all.

Arsenal were calleld the 'Bank of England' club in the 1930s for the exuberant way they spent money. Today they are called the 'Bank of England' club for the way they save and not spend above their means.

Perhaps the coalition Government of ours needs to take thoses people at Arsenal into the government itself.

That would be nice to see but your financial stability comes at the cost of winning little in the way of silverware (although I'm sure many clubs would bite your hand off for Champions League roughly every year). You know there is something wrong when only four different clubs have ever won the Premier League in roughly twenty years.

Football has changed dramatically since Chelsea got their megabucks and since then over half the Premier League is foreign owned and this appears to be cascading down the leagues now. Nowadays success and financial sustainability are mutually exclusive.
The traditional working class fans are becoming more and more disillusioned with the game at the top level which cannot be helped by certain clubs treating the cups as a joke.
Results are everything now and there appears to be carte-blanche to play act, to dive and to appeal every decision. Tackling is being slowly removed from the game by diving - you see defenders paranoid about getting near anyone in the box.

I was thinking Man Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Blackburn although I could well be wrong.

Teams have definitely gone down from the Prem on 42 (West Ham have done it at least once). Not sure overall though.

Think of it this way. He is going to a club that has friendly historical links with your club, and you are getting a financial boost out of it. I know it's a tough blow, but here is hoping someone will step forward to fill his shoes. And strictly seaking my Scottish club is Celtic, but it is hard to see such a great name struggling. Even Celtic fans wouldn't want you to die (as ACE indicates above) - even if it's only because they would lose their main rival to financial issues and not because they keep beating you (theoretical idea; don't abuse me for saying Celtic keeping beating Rangers because I know that it happens only sometimes!)

Liverpool's last title was in 1990. They have had a couple of 2nd positions in the Prem, most notably in 2002 when they finished ahead of Manchester United in thed Red Devils' first finish outside the top two since before the Prem began, but no Prem titles as yet - and none looking imminent either. It will be a while before the trophy heads to Anfield again (unless of course another club wins the title there!).

Of course, from an Evertonian perspective, all I can do is enjoy Liverpool's failings.
