Well City are all but screwed after a 2-1 away loss to Napoli. Both of their goals were scored against the run of play in a game which City owned yet couldn't find the net. The biggest question (and one I shouted for 83 minutes) is why is Agüero on the bench?

It has to be said that certain players stand out for criticism, Kolarov nearly allowed us to concede two more goals in the dying minutes through ball watching oppose to keeping an eye on the players. Lescott made a few really naff touches which could have been costly, Balottelli repeatedly tried to dribble through hopeless situations with one of them conceding possession and allowing them to break away and score.

Typical City as far as I am concerned, I have sod all time during the week after work and end up wasting my time watching another game with a crap end result. I stopped watching England years ago for the same reason but I can never give up on the blues.

Maybe, just maybe we can get lucky and beat Bayern and have Napoli loose. Failing that I'm sure we can go on to win the Europa League.

God it must be terrible having to support a Premiersh*t club - oh no we only finished 8th. that is terrible. Johnson Out, Sack the board!

my club is teetering on the brink of going out of existence, the chairman has had a thrombo and told the players he is playing them half their wages(repayable on promotion!) and if they don’t like it they can do one, we are bumbling along in mid table in the BSP, we got knocked out of the FA Cup, 3-0 in an away replay by Hinckley (WHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) we have no manager, the caretaker manager is the only coach in the club, and runs the youth team, all out better players are leaving or have left, we play in a mega stadium with 1500 people in it and we are slowly sinking into the abyss. HOWEVER we won 3-1 at Ebbsfleet on Saturday with a team of kids and left over’s and put on the best display of the season!

Now I wonder who has it harder? You or me? I have seen my side get promoted 3 times in my lifetime (twice from the 4th division and once from the Vauxhall Conference) We have lost in two playoff finals we should have won in 1996 & 2000 and we have won 1 cup at. We have been in administration 3 times, always on the brink of going bust or going down, I have got up at stupid o’clock in the morning and travelled on a bus for 47 hours (it felt like) to Torquay or Plymouth, stood in the rain and got beat. Then travelled the 47 hours home returning at stupid o’clock in the morning. I have stood in shin deep snow at Carlisle and watched us loose, badly, I have stood in the pouring rain at Scarborough and watched us loose, badly, I have gone to Brighton, Gillingham, Bournemouth, Swansea, Cardiff, Exeter and watched us loose badly ( see a pattern here? - but we did, somehow win 4-1 once at St James park don’t know how) anyone want to swap 17th place in the PL? Anyone? Anyone want to swap their nice, dry, seat in the main stand for a open wind swept terrace in some northern sh*t hole? No, didn’t think so - I wish I had it as hard as some of you :roll::roll: FFS

I support wednesday so i can hardly say i am in your position, but they havent been in the premier league while i have supported them so i can see where your coming from.

Point 1 Darlo Rich Sorry if us Premier League Boys boil your urine.

Point 2 For me to find out what real football was i use to go Ground hopping (Non League and i mean proper non league not your pyriamid that you have now where the top non league teams are basically League 3). For me to get my lower league fix and of course these were the days when i was single and could spend my money on whatever i wanted i watched 4th division Fulham and at that time they were 90th in the league. Even went to Feethams to watch Fulham lose 2-0. Went to Sealand Road (former home of Chester City) to see them lose 7-0 as well.

Point 3 I agree it is easy to support a premier league team, my local team is in fact a premier league team it is nearer to me then my nearest non league Team (Tufnell Park) it is nearer to me then my nearest League team (Leyton Orient). So yes i am in agrement there. For the record i have supported my local team since i was 5 and that was in 1968.

A 1-0 win sees them through to Round 2 at the expense of hapless Preston, and go on to host Paul's beloved Oldham early next month. 15 games unbeaten now - and Man ₵ity thought they were invincible! Then they went to Naples

While I fully understand where DarloRich is coming from, as a supporter of an ex-Premier League club (currently doing well in the Championship), I don't support them because of that, but because they are the club most of my family supported through the years and my Dad went to school with one of their legendary players.
When I lived in Maidstone, and Slough, and couldn't afford to go to up to London, I watched both my local teams, including Maidstone's last-ever game in the Football League.
The 'new breed' of supporters seems to have come about since the (IMO malignant) influence of Sky on the game.

Right DarloRich. Before I start to reply I would like to say that this is not aimed at you or your club but at the attitude you display, which seems to be a common one.

I find it a little bit sad when one football supporter derides another over who has it worse. Just because the team I follow is currently in the top flight has absolutely no bearing on why I feel the way I do.
By all means have a pop at plastic fans who live in Surrey and 'support' Manchester United but please don't patronise me as a life long supporter of a club.
It seems you want to engage in a bit of "I am a better fan than you" debate simply on the grounds that you have it hard because you follow a lower league club. This I find a bit silly. I can't help that I happen to follow my local team. I was born less than 3 miles from Villa Park and up until July I lived within 25 mins walk of there. But if you want to get into a spot of willy waving then here goes.
My first game attended was on 11th November 1970. Against Torquay in the 3rd Division (we lost 0-1) since then I have seen 1123 Villa games in 9 Countries. I was present in our finest hour (winning the European Cup) and there at some very low low's. I had 4 seasons when I went to every single game. I have seen Villa play at 83 different grounds. I have fought for the Villa. Been arrested for the Villa. Lost a job through the Villa. And lost relationships through the Villa. Do I regret any of it. No. Should I care in anyway less just because my team happens to be in the Premier League. No. Should I be patronised by another supporter who happens to follow a team in a lower league. No.
If a supporter is passionate about his or her team there will be times they are not happy about what is happening at their club. For me that time is now. Don't think because my team is in the Premier League I don't reserve the right to be unhappy about the way things are at my club.
I am a Villa fan first and a football fan second. I hate the way the game is going. I hate the way money rules now. But I can do nothing about that. I can just continue following my team. Which, by the way, I would do whatever division they happened to be in.
I attend on average around 85-100 games a season. At all levels. From the Premier League to leagues and cups you have probably never heard of. I used to follow a team who were put out of business by a megalomanic owner (Bromsgrove Rovers) so I know all about the pain football can bring.
Save your wrath for armchair plastic fans. Not a true supporter of the game

I note that Southend United are having a very good season indeed and I am sure that Oldham Athletic will look forward to visiting them with as much confidence as King Canute had in holding back the waves..:roll:

DarloRich - I like Darlington, saw Brentford crowned champions of League 2 there a few seasons ago and got horrifically drunk in Hogans by the station. Darlington looked a good bet for promotion that season but unfortunately it was all being funded on money they didn't have and they went in to administration. Whilst I feel sorry for the fans at the decline of the club they are ultimately where they deserve to be after years of financial mismanagement.

I have been a supporter of Manchester City since I can remember, when the club was already in decline in the 1980s. I supported them because that is the team my uncle would take me to see and I have stuck with them even when we were relegated to the old Division Two. Despite all of the mocking (or supposed "banter") from other fans (the "typical" united fan) I stuck with them, even traveling down to Wembley to watch our then finest hour of coming back from a situation of no hope (2-nil down at 88 minutes) to win the game and promotion. I have spent a small fortune on following my club, I too have lost a job because of my club, I have nearly had my teeth kicked in because of my club (an attempted assault from a united fan) and I have had so many arguments to defend my club.

Yes City have money, and yes money is ruining the game but as I said some 30+ posts back did anyone such as UEFA complain when Chelsea got bought out by a rich backer, or PSG or that Russian club? It seems that because it is City everyone starts to moan, I bet if the filth were bought out by rich backers instead of us every plastic united fan across the world would be singing their praises and congratulating themselves for supporting a top class successful team.

I support teams from various leagues & countries for various reasons and so far have traveled to see all of them play.

Manchester City
Stoke City (began supporting them when they were in a lower division)
Norwich City (again I began supporting them because I liked how they played and this season have been to Carrow Road more than Eastlands).
Bury (a local team)
Crawley Town (I lived there a few years ago)
Annan Athletic (I watched a game up there when my sister got married and enjoyed it so keep going back)
Ajax (I will admit it has been about 4 years since my last game)

And yes I enjoy watching lower league football by a huge margin

Please remember that a lot of fans supported their clubs from a time before the Premiership and insane sponsorship was even thought about.

You mean Exeter. It was 1-1 at St James' Park and 2-2 after 90mins at the Bescot.

Away goals' rule applies after extra time anyway doesn't it? I'd not like to see it though, extra time and penalties gives minnows a better chance of a giant killing.

I realized that and changed it before you posted.

No, away goals applies at the end of full time except in the League Cup semi-finals. There's still a chance of a giant killing with away goals though as all you'd have to do is get a scoring draw away and then a goalless draw at home and you are through. With penalties the big clubs often have the best penalty takers/goalkeepers so they usually win.
