Am not a City fan but I always like to hear United getting turned over.
I love listening to Man Utd fans with southern accents phoning radio stations to whinge how bad United were, bet most of them dont even know where Manchester is let alone actually been to a game.

He will bemoaning the fact that the referee wouldnt allow him to bring on Howard Webb as a substitute. Hopefully he knows what its like to be on the end of a stuffing for a change.

Always glad to have teams from the "midlands and southern" area in our "northern" league. Both gnolife's team(Altrincham) and mine (Hyde FC) are quite strong teams and this league is a good standard. The problem is there is no "midland" division, hence Gainsborough Trinity, Worcester City, Corby, Bishops Stortford, Nuneaton and Gloucester are all currently in this league.
Theres even one team from Cambridge in there (Histon). I want to know how they decide which team ends up in which league!

Nature of it I'm afraid, can't split up the North because that would be unfair on those in the Southern playing twice as many games for the same prize...
Could always change the name to 'Northern & Midland'.

It depends on who gets relegated from the conference. There have been cases where teams have been transferred from north to south (or was it the other way round).
Also there never has been a midland division at that level. Prior to the blue square north and south, it was the northern premier, southern premier and isthmian leagues.

I don't mind us being in the BSN, we are traditionally a southern club and having been around the M25 and thereabouts for 20 years I've been enjoying visiting the likes of Workington (twice), Blyth, Harrogate (twice) and the clubs around the Manchester area. They are places I'd never go to otherwise.
I went to Hyde in our first season when they were still United but haven't been to Alty yet.

I would like to get back to basics and have seen the draw for the F.A. Vase. Amongst the teams, I noticed Glossop North End. They were founded in 1886 and were founder members of the Football League and are celebrating 125 years as a football team. As a reward for defeating Blidworth Welfare 5-0 in the last qualifying round, they have been drawn away to Billingham Town in this next round proper.

The latest instalment of the FC Sion drama....
The Court of Arbitration for Sport has set a date of 24th November for its hearing of the case of the ongoing dispute between FC Sion and UEFA.
UEFA have rejected all attempts by FC Sion to be readmitted to the Europa League this season, after being ejected (for rules misfeasance) and replaced by Celtic. FC Sion had used the Swiss civil court in the Canton of Vaud in a attempt to force UEFA to readmit them, without success.

As blackettstreet has stated earlier in this thread, I don't think it will last. Especially as we are playing Man United, Man City and Chelsea consecutively!
we could, though, really go for it in the carling cup, where if we put out strong sides we might have a chance. if stoke and birmingham can get to cup finals, why can't we?

Good point. However the injuries are starting to mount, Ameobi is out for 6 weeks. Tiote isn't sure if he will be able to make the Stoke game (next Monday) and Alan Pardew is thinking of a way that Steven Taylor can play with a broken nose!
Hopefully we will get a result against Blackburn, but I can't help thinking that we'll be drawn against Man City or Man Utd in the next round. We're lucky to have got this far without drawing a team like them, usually we get one in about the third round!

They did not receive the ruling that they expected from the Swiss court, hence their attempt to finally involve the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Jury is out on Whyte in my opinion. He obviously wants to do things his way and bring his own people in, but the departures of recent executives seem to be in response to their opposition to his buying of the club in the first place. I don't believe the rumours of struggling to pay the wages, but that is perhaps due to me not wanting to believe it, rather than any cogent thought on the matter! Rangers are a massive institution to me and many, many others and cracks appearing in the financial base of the club are an unpleasant thought!
