Can you give me an example of a player being retrospectively red carded on the instigation of a complaint by the opposing team who also provided the video evidence? This is rather different from the scenario where Sky TV, as neutrals, pick up on an incident unseen by the match officials. I would imagine the s***t hitting the fan if a PL or FL club managed to get an opposing player suspended in such a way.

Interestingly yesterday's Bradford v Consett programme (yes we still do one for 196 spectators while Bradford City can't make programmes pay for 24,000+ crowds) referred to an incident in 1970/71 when the Bradford keeper was sent off after the final whistle at Altrincham on the say-so of the local St John's Ambulance man.

Nobody gets "retrospectively red carded", they get charged by the relevant FA.

They have, it seems reasonable to assume, made a complaint and backed it up with the evidence they have. I don't know why you think this is unreasonable. Do you think that they should have kept quiet about whatever happened because to do otherwise would be 'grassing'?

Might have been Charlie Winfield. @Old Yard Dog. Was that the player? Presumably some 'off the ball' incident not spotted by the officials. Mossley got beat by BPA so may have been hacked off.

It happens in youth and development leagues as well as some older EFL Trophy games which were never televised. Clubs set up their own panopticon video for analysis. That is where the evidence for those suspensions comes from. I'm sure the FA have also seen video recorded by fans before too. This must also be the case for appealing dismissals too in the lower leagues.

I don't see what your issue is here.

Marcus Carver. I don't think the offence, which I think was committed after the final whistle, was disputed. I just found the process unusual.
